748 is a new all-services overlay of 970, added on July 7, 2025 across northern and western Colorado — Fort Collins, Greeley, Loveland, Grand Junction, Durango, Aspen and Vail. The Colorado Public Utilities Commission approved it (NANPA Planning Letter PL-625) to relieve 970's number exhaustion. Colorado was already on 10-digit dialing, so 748 brought no change to how residents dial. Existing 970 numbers are unchanged; only new lines may be assigned a 748 number.
